Established: 2001

Location: First Tennessee Pavilion next to Finley Stadium in downtown Chattanooga.

Operator: Public Markets, a nonprofit organization, took over Chattanooga market 10 years ago.

2018 season: The Chattanooga Market opens its 18th season this year on the weekend of April 28-29, opening at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday with the season's first harvest of strawberries, fresh herbs, sunflowers and items for the garden. The Chattanooga Market is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Sunday through November and moves to Chattanooga Convention Center for weekends in December.

Attractions: Nearly 200 vendor booths feature artists, crafters and homemade prepared foods along with plenty of nearby farms with in-season produce, meats and cheeses along with live music on the EPB stage.

New for 2018: Two-day Street Food Festival on May 26-27, Team Tennessee Teen Cook-off on June 24, and the Apple Festival on Sept. 30.

Other markets operated by Public Markets: Erlanger Market at the hospital's main campus; Chattanooga River Market on the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza, Collegedale Market at The Commons and the Cambridge Market at Cambridge Square.
