One third of all households in metropolitan Chattanooga rent their home or apartment.
A new study by Apartment List found that the hardest amenity for tenants to find, in comparison to what landlords offer, was in-unit laundry. Only 11 percent of local apartments offer a washer and dryer within the apartment, compared with 42 percent of local renters who say they want such in-unit laundry equipment.
Conversely, the study found that it was relatively easy to find a cat-friendly apartment with 42 percent of all apartments allowing cats, compared with only 17 percent of tenants who said they want cat-friendly rental units.
