A longtime South Chattanooga manufacturing site is ready for a new user, according to a real estate broker.
The 41-acre former Velsicol Chemical Corp. location on Central Avenue is for sale for $1.35 million after having been environmentally remediated, said Joe Pleva of KW Commercial.

The former pesticide and herbicide manufacturing plant on Central Avenue has been torn down except for a couple of buildings. A one-time engineering building has 4,000 square feet of office space, conference area, reception lobby, two bathrooms and a small kitchen, according to the broker. The other building was used as a change house for employees.
The property is listed as two parcels, with the largest more than 36 acres.
The tract is located 3.5 miles from downtown Chattanooga, 14 miles from Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and 18 miles from Enterprise South industrial park.
The parcel is flat, ready to build upon and outside the 100-year flood plane, according to Pleva.
The original plant was constructed on the property in 1948. Manufacturing ceased in 2007.
