Scott Simmons joins The American Insurance Group, LLC as a partner and chief operating officer. Simmons, a Chattanooga native, graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in finance, an MBA and a law degree. He practiced law with Miller & Martin for five years and spent the last two years as the senior pastor at Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church in Flintstone, Georgia.

Marcus McKamey joins Atlantic Capital Bank as senior vice president and senior commercial client manager. McKamey works with mid-market companies in the area and focus on providing a holistic banking experience for his clients. He previously spent more than 20 years with Bank of America. McKamey moved back to Chattanooga in 2015 to lead Bank of America's Commercial Banking efforts.

Katie Sponberger is named the district program manager for North Georgia for The Georgia Association of Conservation Districts (GACD). Sponberger earned an agricultural business degree from the University of Georgia and most recently served as the economic development coordinator and public relations manager for Catoosa County government. She resides in Ringgold. GACD's dstrict program managers are responsible for the management of 45 district program assistants located throughout Georgia.

Dr. Sarah Baker joins CHI Memorial Medical Group at the Chattanooga Internal Medicine Group located in the Memorial Plaza building at 605 Glenwood Drive. Baker earned her medical degree from East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Denver and Health Science Center in Aurora. Dr. Baker is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Mike O'Brien is now the director of intermodal service for Covenant Transport Solutions. O'Brien spent the last 20 years in transportation and logistics, and the last 12 in intermodal service specifically. A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, O'Brien's career began on the operations floor at Covenant Transport - sister company of Covenant Transport Solutions - nearly two decades ago. O'Brien said the expansion of intermodal at Covenant Solutions is a win for both existing and potential customers.

O'Mally Foster is named the new vice president of talent resources for Vision Hospitality Group. Foster joins the Chattanooga-based hotel chain after working for more than a decade in human resources, payroll, employee relations, accounting and operational compliance at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc., Noble Management, Dimension Development and Wacker.

Mike Otterman is named the new president and chief operating officer for Lodge Manufacturing in South Pittsburg. Otterman joined Lodge in June 2016 as the senior vice president of sales and marketing with more than 25 years of experience in the housewares and outdoor industries.

Dr. Brooke Gorman is the Tennessee Aquarium's new director of science education. Gorman was previously director for instructional materials development at Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS), a nonprofit educational center that develops curricular and evaluation materials in the fields of science and technology. After receiving her bachelor's degree in biology, Gorman earned her doctorate in biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology and completed a postdoctoral degree in science teaching and research at Emory University.

Dr. Megan Stevens joins Erlanger Health System in its neurology services department. Dr. Stevens is a fellowship trained neurologist specializing in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease. She received her Doctorate of Allopathic Medicine from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Her clinical areas of interest are post-stroke care, stroke prevention and stroke in young people.

Troy Hammett is promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for Catholic Health Initiative's (CHI) Southeast division. Hammett has more than 20 years of executive and financial leadership experience with complex health systems in Tennessee, Georgia and Ohio, as well as 10 years as a financial and strategic advisor with regional and national health care consulting firms.
