Zack LeQuire joins SmartBank as business deposit officer. He is based in Chattanooga. In this role, LeQuire will be responsible for developing new business from prospective clients through the acquisition of deposits as well as additional treasury management services. Previously, LeQuire served as Vice President, Treasury Management Sales Officer for First Horizon Bank and Senior Treasury Analyst for U.S. Xpress Inc. in Chattanooga.
Sierra Cannon is named executive director for Garden Plaza at Greenbriar Cove. She served as sales director for almost five years at the independent living community. Cannon has lived in the area all her life. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. With a desire to maintain the excellent reputation of her community and a servant leader's heart, Sierra is the perfect candidate to carry on the legacy of compassionate service to all the residents who call Greenbriar their home.
Melanie Blake, MD, MBAD, joins CHI Memorial and CHI Memorial Medical Group. Blake serves as a physician advisor for CHI Memorial and is joining CHI Memorial Integrative Medicine Associates as a primary care internal medicine physician. Dr. Blake received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She also earned a master's in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Dr. Blake is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Ursula Carter joins Grant, Konvalinka & Harrison, P.C. as firm administrator. Carter comes to the practice with over 15 years of experience in operations, finance, and office management. She is responsible for the firm's daily operations by providing administrative and human resources support for the firm and its support staff. Carter is a graduate of the University of Georgia, Athens.
Susan Ashcraft is appointed to serve as Director of Alumni Relations at Lee University. Ashcraft joined Lee's Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences in 2001, where she currently serves as professor of psychology and human development. She is a published author and researcher in the areas of child and adolescent sexuality and marriage and family relationships. Ashcraft received her Doctor of Philosophy in human development and family studies from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, her Master of Education in counselor education and counseling psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Lee.
Jamie Cannon advances to Vice President of 3PL Division for Reliance Partners. Cannon leads Reliance's logistics and freight brokerage division with a focus on business development strategy and overall client education and well-being. She drives Reliance's mission forward, increasing Reliance's presence within the transportation and logistics space. Cannon joined Reliance Partners in 2016 with more than 15 years of experience in insurance and marketing. She has always been involved in the transportation industry through her involvement with her family's trucking company based out of Knoxville, Tenn.
Thom Benson is named chief communications and marketing officer for the Tennessee Aquarium. In 2006, Benson was hired as the Aquarium's communications manager where he worked to successfully open new Aquarium exhibits from Penguins' Rock to the new Turtles of the World gallery, unveiling the new IMAX with Laser system at the IMAX 3D Theater and communicating the importance of the Aquarium's scientific research and conservation efforts. He succeeds Cindy Todd, who left the Aquarium in January to pursue a role as a marketing consultant for regional nonprofits.
Brantley Crowder returns to Chattanooga after almost 12 years in Savannah, Georgia, to join Smart Furniture as its marketing director. Crowder has an extensive background in marketing and eCommerce strategy and will be bringing this expertise to both Smart Furniture and Office Designs, Smart Furniture's sister company focused solely on office furnishings. Most recently, Crowder has been involved in the launch of The Smarter Office, the furniture industry's first line focused on furnishing home offices with pieces that blend functionality, comfort, and an appealing aesthetic at an approachable price point.
Jerry Isaksen, an architect who previously worked in design, construction and project management in Tacoma, Washington, joins MBI Companies Inc. in Chattanooga. Isaksen recently relocated to Chattanooga with wife, Melissa and daughter Sydney. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree at Washington State University and enjoys volunteer work with local mentor and youth programs.
