Dam destinations: Guntersville Dam is a bass fisherman's dream

Along the Tennessee River and its many rushing tributaries, dams provide flood control, river navigation and hydropower - as well as ample opportunities for outdoor recreation. Many of these sites boast beaches, overlooks, hiking trails, fishing piers and more.

This summer, in partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority, we'll be showcasing some of the state's most action-packed dams. All within a day's drive and fun for the whole family, these destinations are sure to be a dam good time.

GUNTERSVILLE DAM

Consistently listed as a top-10 bass fishing destination by Bassmaster, Lake Guntersville hosts some of the nation's premier fishing tournaments.
