The city is known historically for its music roots. But the Nashville of today boasts so much more - a world-class food scene, vibrant arts and unique shopping. And of course, music is still a staple.

Nestled in the middle of the state, Nashville is a doable day-trip for almost anyone in Tennessee. But there's so much to see and do that you could easily fill a weekend, or more. The city has much to offer, whether you're bringing the kids for a family outing or you're on a romantic getaway. Just be sure to bring your walking shoes and your appetite.

Or set the kids loose on the city’s largest playground, situated inside zoo grounds. > Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art: This 55-acre estate was built by the Maxwell House Coffee fortune, and it’s home to an abundant garden and large collection of art.> Nashville Shores: Float down the lazy river, explore the massive water treehouse, or take a ride down one of the many water slides at Nashville Shores. Or, if you’re feeling a little bit more adventurous, the park offers an aerial ropes course and zip line.
