As a skilled nursing care provider, our number-one priority is protecting the health, safety and comfort of our residents. Year after year, we have fulfilled that priority, and we don't plan on changing any time soon. But because of the current state of affairs, our care teams have been pushed to adapt and innovate in order to further our mission of delivering incredible care to our senior community.

We have served the senior community for many years with services ranging from skilled nursing and long-term care to short-term rehabilitation and post-surgical care. Our skilled nursing team caters to long-term care residents, making sure those residents have what they need to lead comfortable, fulfilling lives. Our physical, occupational, and speech therapists work tirelessly to help patients reach their highest level of ability so that they can return to active and productive lives after illness or surgery. And our social services team, activities associates and dietary professionals do all they can to foster a supportive, fun and nourishing environment.

With the new pressures COVID-19 has put on us as communities and as a nation, we at Life Care have implemented new safety methods and procedures to meet the needs of our residents and their families while limiting risk of infection. Doing so will benefit not only our residents but also our community at large as we work to flatten the curve.

Our nurses and care associates closely observe local, state and national health guidelines when administering care to residents. All of our associates wear personal protective equipment and monitor residents regularly. We also take our associates' temperatures and ask screening questions before and after all shifts.

All in-person visitation to our facilities has been suspended temporarily, as have public events. Our cleaning staff have ramped up their cleaning regimens, paying careful attention to high-contact areas. But while we want to preserve our residents' physical health, we also have been careful to meet their social and emotional needs. All residents have access to devices that allow them to video chat with friends and loved ones. Residents can even interact with associates outside of normal care procedures through video. And our activities department is always coming up with new ways for our residents to remain active and engaged while practicing social distancing.

While life at Life Care Centers of America facilities has changed for the time-being, our commitment to quality care and safety has not. Our service to residents, their families and the community will remain steady and strong. Our nurses, therapists, dietary professionals, and the rest of our team are holding steady, fully prepared to broaden accommodations when this difficult time comes to an end.

We are confident that this difficult time will come to an end soon. And when it does, we at Life Care will be here to serve you and your family. No matter how we adapt and grow over time, quality care and service will always be our number-one priority!
