Breast cancer

Dr. Larry Schlabach, gynecological oncologist with University Oncology and Hematology Associates, will be the speaker at 6 p.m. March 18 at the Breast Cancer Educational Series, presented by Breast Cancer Network of Strength. He will summarize new things discussed at a recent symposium followed by a Q&A session. The meeting will be held at North River Civic Center, Ring Road behind Northgate Mall. NAMI speakers

The Chattanooga Chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will hold its Speakers Forum 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Center, 420 Bell Ave. The speaker will be Donna Coleman from the Fortwood Center. She will provide an update on the services offered to children, adolescents, and adults who need mental health services. Q&A session included. The meeting is free. Diabetes lecture

Community wellness

Community Wellness Fair, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 51 W. 25th St. There will be nutrition and dietary information, HIV testing, voter registration, dental and mental health, massage therapy, cancer literature, and others. Pancreatic cancer

The Chattanooga Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will meet at 6:30 tonight at Memorial Hospital's Center for Cancer Support. The speaker is Dr. Ryan Faught, a radiation oncologist. For information call 855-4643.

Senior Neighbors

* Alexian Brothers Senior Ministries will host free Lunch and Learn workshops for seniors. On Monday at noon, titled "Protect Yourself ... 10 Ways to Protect Yourself from Abuse, Neglect and Financial Exploitation" will be presented by Nancy Ridge of the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults.

* The Lunch and Learn on Tuesday at noon is "The Consequences of Untreated Hearing Loss" and is presented by Dr. Megan Johnson, AuD.

* Flexibility and balance classes offered today and March 25 at 11 a.m.

* Beginning Yoga classes for seniors every Wednesday at 2 p.m. Bring your own yoga mat. Flexibility and yoga classes are free for Senior Neighbors members; $3 for nonmembers.
