Third Day will headline Faith and Family night at Riverbend

Four-time Grammy winner Third Day will play on the Coca-Cola Stage June 15 during what has become known as Faith and Family Night at this year's Riverbend Festival, according to public relations director John Troutner.

This is the 10th year for Faith and Family Night at Riverbend. It is highlighted by religious music on three of the six stages and no alcohol sales.

Third Day features lead singer Mac Powell, guitarist Mark Lee, bassist Tai Anderson and drummer David Carr. The group formed in Marietta, Ga., in 1998 and has been described by Billboard magazine as "one of the best rock bands, period."

They were inducted in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in September of last year.

Mr. Troutner also announced that The Children's Talent Show is returning to the Festival after a one-year hiatus. Ambiance Modeling & Performing Arts Center, located in Chattanooga, plans to hold a series of preliminary competitions at local venues in the Chattanooga area. The finalist from each competition will perform and compete at Riverbend 2010. Venues to host the preliminary competitions will be announced on www.riverbendfestival.com.

Previously announced performers are Sheryl Crow, Darius Rucker, George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, the Charlie Daniels Band, The Whigs, Carmine Appice Slamm, Dan Baird and Drivin' 'n' Cryin'.

Riverbend pin holders will receive added value this year as 2010 pins will allow wearers admission to the PGA's Nationwide Tour Chattanooga Classic here Oct. 4-10.

The pins will be available at area Kangaroo convenience stores beginning May 1 for $30.

Reserved Star Seating Tickets (in front of the stage) are available for every Coca-Cola Stage performance, and Club Riverbend passes are available now to the general public. Call 423-756-2211.
