Jericho Brass Band's Brassworks at Camp House Monday

Brassworks, an outreach ensemble of the Jericho Brass Band, will be featured in the monthly Southside Casual Classics series at The Camp House, 1427 Williams St., on Monday.

Brassworks was conceived 10 years ago as a smaller group that could perform in venues that could not accommodate the larger ensemble, a 30-piece all-brass band with percussion. This year, Brassworks has performed for school assemblies, churches, retirement centers, military occasions and community block parties.

The number of performing musicians has varied from three to 15 or more players. For the past year, the number has been six brass players, and they will perform Monday.

Members are Dave deMarche on horn and alto horn, Bill Kinnaman on euphonium, Gordon Lawrence on tuba, Lynn Moore on tuba and Carroll Wallace on trombone and euphonium. Dan Hanson, who plays trumpet, cornet and flugelhorn, is Brassworks' coordinator, and much of the ensemble's music is composed or arranged by him.

Music for the program will include marches, folk tunes, patriotic selections, pop tunes and hymns.

Music starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but a freewill donation will be taken.
