Art Garfunkel, half of the '60s folk-singing duo, Simon & Garfunkel, will appear Jan. 30 at The Tivoli Theatre, it was announced today.
Tickets are $97, $67 and $47 and will go on sale Friday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Auditorium box office, on Etix.com or by phone at 642-TIXS.
Garfunkel is best known for the hit "Bridge Over Trouble Water," which he recorded more than 40 years ago. He first hooked up with Paul Simon at a school talent show where the two were singing Everly Brothers songs. They recorded their first song, then billing themselves as Tom and Jerry, in 1957.
The song, "Hey, Schoolgirl," earned them an appearance on "American Bandstand" while still in high school. Garfunkel's distinctive voice can also be heard on hits like "Sound of Silence," "Cecilia," "Scarborough Fair/Canticle" and "Mrs. Robinson."
