Help for holiday stories: We want you to help

It's the holidays! As if you weren't already feeling the rising pressure.

The Times Free Press wants to relieve some of that stress. We want to write a couple of stories that we hope will put a smile on your face or warmth in your heart. But we need your help.

For the first story, we'd like to know your family's personal holiday traditions, something only your family does that's been handed down generation to generation. Doesn't matter if it's Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, we'd like to know.

Secondly, what is the funniest memory you have about a holiday celebration? Did your dog get its head stuck inside the turkey? Did a squirrel get into your Christmas tree a la "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"? A little laughter goes a long way.

If you have stories that fit either topic, please send them to Features Editor Shawn Ryan at sryan@timesfreepress.com. Give as many details as you can and include your name and where you live. The traditions story will run on Sunday, Dec. 18, and the funniest memory on Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25.

Thanks for your help.
