Like any child at Grandma's house, we'll start with the dessert. The coconut cream pie is a must and, when in season, the strawberry concoctions are some of the best ways to savor the spring and summer. Pair them with some of the fresh cooked vegetables - a nod to the surrounding countryside - and down-home traditions such as grilled meatloaf or chicken and dumplings. It's all (almost) as good as one of Grandma's sweeping hugs.
