Does your Christmas candy make the favorites list?

Still munching on Christmas candy?

CandyStore.com estimates that U.S. consumers spent more than $2 billion on candy over the holiday season. Yep, $2 billion, just on candy.

Some of that was for baking (sprinkles on cookies), decorating (candy canes on the Christmas tree) and crafting (peppermints on gingerbread houses).

But there was also a lot of candy being eaten.

Each year, CandyStore.com, an online bulk candy store, ranks favorite candy by state. Results are based on surveys of customers, candy manufacturers and distributors.

According to the surveys, peppermint bark ranks at the top in Tennessee, followed by candy canes and Starburst, while in Georgia, the favorite is candy canes, followed by Skittles and Starburst.

Alabama residents mostly crave reindeer corn. Not a surprise, since candy corn is the favorite Halloween candy in the Yellowhammer State, and reindeer corn is simply the red, green and white alternative to that yellow, orange and white staple. Candy canes and peppermint bark came in second and third in Alabama.

Clair Robins, content strategist for CandyStore.com, says reindeer corn is riding high, finishing in the Top 3 in 13 states this year. Last year, it showed up only three times total.
