Most of these are chains with a national or regional presence, so be advised that local participation may vary. Also, offerings may be limited to certain menu items, and most are dine-in only.
You'll need to show a military ID to take advantage of the discount.
* Applebee's: Free meal for all active military members and veterans.
* Bonefish Grill: Free appetizer.
* Buffalo Wild Wings: Free small boneless wings and fries for all past and present armed services members.
* Chicken Salad Chick: Free Chick Special and regular drink to any veteran or active military service member.
* Chili's: Free meal to veterans and active military members.
* The Chop House: Veterans receive 50% discount off any dine-in lunch or dinner entree.
* Chuck E. Cheese: Regular discounts include choice of a large one-topping pizza, four drinks and play points.
* Cicis Pizza: Free pizza buffet to active and retired military.
* Cracker Barrel: Free Pumpkin Pie Latte or slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake to veterans and active-duty military.
* Denny's: Free build-your-won Grand Slam breakfast for active, nonactive or retired military personnel, 5 a.m.-noon.
* Dunkin': Free doughnut to veterans and active-duty military. First 50 at each store get a thank-you card from A Million Thanks.
* Firebirds Wood Fired Grill: Free lunch or dinner entree.

* Outback Steakhouse: A 20% Heroes Discount is available Nov. 8-11 to servicemen and women, police officers, firefighters and firefighters, plus military personnel and immediate families. (Heroes Discount is 10% all other days.)
* Red Lobster: Free appetizer or dessert to veterans and activity-duty military and reservists.
* Red Robin: Free Red's Tavern Double with Bottomless Steak Fries.
* Starbucks: Free cup of coffee for veterans, active service members and their spouses, plus 25 cents from every cup of brewed coffee sold will be donated to veterans organizations.
* Sticky Fingers Ribhouse: Free all-you-can-eat buffet for veterans, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Hamilton Place location; free sandwich to veterans all day Monday, Nov. 11; 10% for military personnel every day.
