The good news for taco lovers in the Chattanooga area is that we have plenty of places offering quality versions of the tasty favorites.

In fact, in our latest online poll, more than 100 people responded, giving Mexiville, Taqueria Jalisco, Poblanos and Sugar's Ribs around 10 endorsements each. Readers mentioned the housemade tortillas, flavorful ingredients and authenticity in making their recommendations.

Mexiville, Taqueria Jalisco and Poblanos specialize in authentic Mexican cuisine. Sugar's is primarily known as a barbecue place.

Readers had lots of recommendations to share.

"Taco Town and Taqueria Jalisco both have outstanding street tacos!" wrote Jeff Hanson.

"Taqueria Jalisco has some great ones," wrote Cody Lee. "Fish tacos at Tremont Tavern are also great."

Taco Town and Carniceria Loa No. 7 on Broad Street also earned several votes.

"Taco Town, baby. Exactly what tacos should be," wrote Seth Barlow. "Reminds me of Mexico every time. Get the al pastor tacos [made with pork]."

Amanda Terry likes the beef tacos at Mexiville.

"I need to try Taco Town," she wrote. "But Mexiville has some AMAZING steak tacos. Definitely my favorite so far."

Andrew Lopez likes the ability to create his own at Carniceria Loa: "Authentic tacos with the option to add a ton of toppings! Delicious."

We will ask a different food-related question every other Monday, and we'd love to hear from you. This week's question is: "Which restaurants offer the best non-GMO dishes, and tell us which dishes you prefer?"
