Because of safety concerns stemming from the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Southern Lit Alliance has postponed its SouthWord Literary Festival, originally set for April 3-4 to Oct. 30-31.

According to a news release, SouthWord will still take place at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's University Center, and the Keynote Dinner will still take place at the Westin Chattanooga.

Purchased tickets will be honored in October. Tickets will be refunded for those who can't make the fall event, but the alliance says that ticket purchasers who do not plan to attend in the Fall can consider their purchase a donation to Southern Lit Alliance to help absorb any losses brought on by the "unexpected changes."
