WUSY-FM 100.7 earned its eighth Academy of Country Music award in the Radio Station of the Year - Medium Market category, continuing an every-other-year winning streak it started in 2006.

Like the Country Music Association, the ACM has declared that a station can't win in consecutive years. WUSY has won the same award from the CMA 13 times and is nominated again this year.

The 55th ACM awards show airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CBS, but some winners were announced on Monday night. Clay & Company at WYRK-FM in Buffalo won for On-Air Personality of the Year - Medium Market, an award for which WUSY's The Cowboy Kyle Show was nominated.

"It was super cool to be nominated," Kyle Croft said. "I was very shocked to see my name on that list."

He describes what he does as a "show of silly antics and good times. I like to spotlight the good in life." It airs daily from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Among the nominees up for awards Wednesday night are Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett for Entertainer of the Year. Joining Combs and Rhett as nominees for Male Artist of the Year are Chris Stapleton, Dierks Bentley and Keith Urban.

Underwood is joined by Kacey Musgraces, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris and Miranda Lambert in the Female Artist of the Year category.
