It is likely too early to predict what, if anything, it might mean for other music festivals traditionally scheduled for the spring and summer, but the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival announced Tuesday that it would hold the 2021 event in September instead of June, when it is normally held, in Manchester, Tennessee.

The event, which draws as many as 80,000 music fans who camp for four days on the farm at Great Stage Park, just held a Virtual ROO-ALITY over the weekend, featuring past concerts as well as newly recorded short sets and featured experiences such as virtual campfire memories from fans. The event was moved because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organizers thanked fans on social media for attending the event and announced that 2021's event will be held Sept. 2-5. The Twitter announcement said more information was to come, and encouraged fans who had purchased 2020 tickets to roll them over. No information on the lineup was offered.
