A North Georgia teacher will be thanked by her former student turned country music star on Friday's episode of "Secret Celebrity Renovation" on CBS at 8 p.m. EDT.

Singer Lauren Alaina returns home to surprise Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School teacher Susan Bradley with a home renovation. Each week the show features a celebrity who wants to express appreciation to someone who made a significant influence in his or her life by updating their home. Among stars who have been or will be featured are television personality Wayne Brady, "In the Heights" star Anthony Ramos and Dallas Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith.

Bradley, a psychology teacher who has taught in the Catoosa County Schools system for 29 years, was Alaina's cheerleading coach at L-FO from 2009 to 2011 just before the Rossville native found fame on season 10 of "American Idol."

While she can't reveal details of what's in the episode, Bradley said she could "confirm that the team renovated two areas" of her home.

"Secret Celebrity Renovation" is hosted by "Entertainment Tonight's" Nischelle Turner. The design team is composed of Jason Cameron from "While You Were Out" and Sabrina Soto of "Trading Spaces."

This is the second time the country singer has honored an L-FO educator for her influence in her life. In the season 10 finale of "American Idol," Alaina chose then-LFO Principal Terri Vandiver to receive a new Ford Focus presented by the automotive company.

Friday's show is among several high-profile events highlighting the successful country star. On July 20, just before her performance at the Grand Ole Opry, the singer was presented four Recording Industry Association of America plaques recognizing four gold records she has released over the past five years. On July 30, Alaina released a new single "It Was Me" ahead of her album, "Sitting Pretty on Top of the World," which will be out Sept. 3.

Also in September, she will join Florida Georgia Line's "I Love My Country Tour" and star in her first Hallmark movie, "Roadhouse Romance," premiering Sept. 11. Then, on Nov. 2, her first book will be released, "Getting Good at Being You: Learning to Love Who God Made You to Be."
