If you haven't tried Wendy's new breakfast croissants, the $3.59 price tag won't be a problem this weekend.

During breakfast hours Friday and Saturday, guests can wake up to a free Sausage, Egg & Swiss Croissant or Bacon, Egg & Swiss Croissant, no purchase necessary, no app or coupon required. (The Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant is not included in the deal.)

You can score the free breakfast between 6:30 and 10:30 a.m. both days at your nearest location, while supplies last. The offer is not valid within a combo.

Wendy's purists will note that the sausage patties and croissants fit squarely, ahem, into the Wendy's tradition. Founder Dave Thomas developed the chain's iconic square hamburger patties so that customers could see the quality of the beef sticking out from the bun, according to company history.

Wendy's was late to the fast-food breakfast wars, introducing its lineup of croissants, biscuits, seasoned potatoes and Frosty-ccino drinks nationally in March 2020, just before COVID-19 lockdowns began. With its dining rooms closed, Wendy's marketed its breakfast as a drive-thru option. Customers responded. Even when fast-food sales slumped during the pandemic, Wendy's breakfast sales remained strong, a trend that has continued in 2021.
