You know you can get a free doughnut at Krispy Kreme just by showing your COVID-19 vaccination card. Starting Monday, they're sweetening the deal.
For one week only, vaccinated customers can get two free doughnuts when they present proof of vaccination. And here's where the deal gets even sweeter. You'll not only get one Original Glazed doughnut, as promised in the initial promotion, but one Original Glazed heart to share with someone you love.
The weeklong "Show Your Heart" offer follows the announcement of full approval of the Pfizer vaccine by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
"As the U.S. continues to scale [up] COVID-19 vaccinations, Krispy Kreme wanted to find a way to show our support for those who are protecting themselves and others by getting vaccinated," the company said in a statement.
The company said it has given away more than 2.5 million free doughnuts since it began the original promotion in March. That offer, granting one free Original Glazed doughnut per day to any customer with proof of vaccination, continues through the end of the year. "Show Your Heart" will last for one week only, Aug. 30-Sept. 5.
For either offer, you'll need to show your card affirming you've received at least one of the two Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Employees won't record any information from it. They'll simply make sure you have one. A vaccine sticker does not qualify.
Customers can redeem the offer inside the shop or in the drive-through, but not through online orders or delivery.
The heart-shaped doughnuts also will be available for purchase during the weeklong promotion.
