The Chattanooga Red Wolves have Cardiac Punch. Here's where to find food and beverages celebrating other Chattanooga sports teams.

The Chattahooligans, the fervent fans of the Chattanooga Football Club, a National Independent Soccer Association team, have a couple of drinks and a sandwich that are sold at partner businesses off-site. Often, a portion of proceeds from sales goes to the organization's youth soccer initiatives.

In 2015, the Chattahooligans partnered with Chattanooga Brewing Co., their official home bar, to produce Chattahooligan Lager. However, the drink du jour has changed over the years, according to Chattanooga Brewing general manager Alex Keiss.

"Over time, we've been trying different styles," he says. "We've now settled on a Kolsch-style beer."

Named for a region in Germany, a Kolsch brew is not as well known as a pilsner or lager but is becoming more popular in the United States, Keiss says.

The Chattahooligan version is "really light and very drinkable" with "a really subtle floral sweetness," he says. "It's very refreshing, especially on a hot day."

After the lager came a sandwich, according to Chattahooligan.com. In 2016, Jeff Perry, a CFC fan whose game-day alias is Lucha Nooga, entered the Chattahooligans in a sandwich-making contest at Mindy B's Deli. The latest edition, listed on the menu as the Chattahooligan 2.0, is built with grilled chicken, Buffalo sauce, bacon, blue cheese, slaw and jalapeno on a wheat wrap.

In 2019, local entrepreneurs Christopher Wood and Douglas Lee opened the first of their (Be)Caffeinated drive-thru coffee shops. The Chattahooligan Latte, made with white chocolate and caramel, soon followed.

"Before we opened, we were ideating on the names of our signature drinks," Wood says. "We knew we wanted them to be Chattanooga themed."

More recently, the business added a Looie's Latte, named for the mascot of the Chattanooga Lookouts, and a Blueberry Moc-iatto for the UTC Mocs.

For those, Wood says representatives from the Lookouts and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga were invited for a taste test of the possibilities.

"We made eight or 10 different recipes and let them try them all," he says.

He describes the Blueberry Moc-iatto as "fruity and different than the other signature drinks."

For Looie's Latte, "we played off the grand-slam mentality — a home run with bases loaded," Wood says. "We have four signature drinks, and Looie's Latte takes one ingredient from each of those, and that's what ties them all together."

The specialty drinks have the team logo and website on the back of the coffee sleeve.

Chattanooga Roller Derby also can expect some spirited attention at Gate 11 Distillery. At a preview party there on June 4, a week before the home opener, the drink specials will be "derby-themed," according to a team Facebook post.

Gate 11 business manager Wanda Lee says the distillery will serve six specials during the evening: Apex Jump, Zebra, Star Pass, Power Jam, Lead Jammer and Hip Check.

1.5 ounces Once agave spirit

1 ounce lime juice

1 ounce lemon juice

3/4 ounce agave nectar

1/2 ounce simple syrup

Mint leaves

Dried lime circle

Ingredients should be shaken and poured with ice.
