A vehicle slammed into the center median on U.S. Highway 27 South near the Signal Mountain Road exit late tonight, according to a dispatcher with the Chattanooga Police Department.
Caleb Masquelier said there were injuries, but he did not know the extent to which passengers were hurt. The dispatcher said he was not sure how many people were in the car.
Traffic reportedly was backed up for a considerable distance.
