After months of road work, U.S. Highway 64 was reopened today. The first car drove through at 11:19 a.m. just after TDOT workers took away barricades that had kept the road closed since November.
The Nov. 10 rock slide closed Polk County's major east-west link between Benton and Copperhill. In the months since, several smaller rock slides have occurred along the highway.
