Multiple arrests result from police saturation effort

Chattanooga police, along with Hamilton County 911 services and Hamilton County Rescue/Rehab service volunteers, conducted a sector 3 saturation on Friday, resulting in multiple arrests.

According to a police department news release, the total crime statistics for the saturation were:

* 36 arrests: 17 felony, 19 misdemeanor.

* 399 moving citations: 12 warning and 37 parking tickets, 279 speed van citations.

* 2 DUI arrests.

* 10 vehicle crashes investigated.

* 10 bar compliance checks, with 39 fire code violations cited.

* 50 field interviews conducted.

* 16 arrest warrants served.

* 2 search warrants served.

* More than 144 grams of various drugs, including crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana and Xanax pills, along with $1,306 cash.

* 16 gang contacts made.

* 4 handguns seized.

Officers also assisted patrol with a shooting and attempted business robbery, a fight at Howard School for Academics and Technology and patrol at Coolidge Park, police said.
