After 12 seasons and 11 consecutive Southern Conference regular-season championships at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, women's basketball coach Wes Moore has accepted East Carolina's offer to coach the Pirates.
Moore said in a text message early this morning that no deal has been finalized or signed, and his contract must still be approved by the university attorney. In addition, the ECU Board of Trustees, which is expected to meet via conference call this afternoon, has to give its stamp of approval.
The five-time SoCon coach of the year informed his players, as well UTC's five incoming freshmen, of his decision late Sunday night.
