RINGGOLD, Ga. - Catoosa County Sheriff Phil Summers declined again this morning to release any information on the removal of Catoosa County Magistrate Judge Anthony Peters from the county courthouse on Wednesday.
Deputies at the Catoosa County Courthouse blocked access to the Magistrate Court this morning, saying the office would open late by 10 a.m. today. The office's normal hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to court officials.
Judge Peters was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies just before 3 p.m. Wednesday and the sheriff has refused to comment on the police action since.
Speaking through his secretary, Sheriff Summers said all requests for police reports and the booking log at the jail would have to be submitted as formal Freedom of Information Act requests.
The secretary said there was no arrest report.
