Alabama coach charged in crack cocaine case

BAY MINETTE, Ala. - A Faulkner State Community College assistant basketball coach and two other men have been arrested on crack cocaine charges.

Officers with the Baldwin County Drug Task Force served a warrant Wednesday, resulting in the arrests of 25-year-old Marcus Nicholas Grant, 45-year-old Charles Ricks and 55-year-old Tommy McReynolds.

Officers charged all three with felony distribution of crack cocaine and McReynolds faces other charges, including marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Faulkner spokeswoman Linda Caldwell confirmed that Grant is an assistant men's basketball coach there, working as an independent contractor.

Grant was a forward for Faulkner State in 2003-04 and went to work there as an assistant coach in 2007 after playing for the University of West Florida.
