Luverne bakery featured on Food Network

LUVERNE, Ala. - An Alabama bakery is set to be featured on the Food Network show "Unwrapped."

Sister Schubert's Homemade Rolls will be shown on the "Feel-Good Foods" episode on Monday.

The episode was filmed last September at the company's main plant in Luverne and features interviews with founder Patricia "Sister Schubert" Barnes and workers.

It will also have interior footage of the bakery, which produces more than one million rolls per day. Barnes founded the company as a home-based business in Troy, Alabama in 1991.

Since then it has expanded to produce more than two million rolls per day, distributed nationally in grocery stores. Sister Schubert's Parker House Style yeast rolls are the country's best-selling brand of frozen dinner rolls.

Barnes recently published her second cookbook with proceeds benefiting the Barnes Family Foundation.
