An infant found dead by police this morning at a 2500 Westside Drive apartment likely died of natural causes, police say.
The mother slept next to her child on the couch and awoke to find the infant unresponsive this morning, police said.
Few details have been released about the death investigation, but Sgt. Jerri Weary said in an e-mail that no charges are pending.
"The child's death appears to be natural but is pending an official autopsy," she wrote.
The name, age and sex of the child and the time of events have not been released.
