The civil rights case against three men accused to throwing fireworks and racial slurs at residents of a public housing complex is going to the Hamilton County grand jury.

This morning in Hamilton County General Sessions Court, Colton Partin, Danny Smiley and Kyle Montgomery waived their rights to preliminary hearings.

Judge Clarence Shattuck then sent the cases to the grand jury.

The trio reportedly threw the fireworks toward East Lake Courts early in the morning of July 9. They now face charges of civil rights intimidation.
