Schools close in region counties

Classes have been called off for Friday in Sequatchie, Polk and Bledsoe counties while school in Grundy County will be on a two-hour delay for incoming weather, officials said early this morning.

A cold front moving across Tennessee is bringing a wintry mix to northern parts of the region and school officials in Sequatchie said snow is already falling on Fredonia Mountain on the Cumberland Plateau just west of Dunlap.

Grundy officials said the two-hour delayed could change depending on how much precipitation develops in next few hours. Officials said snow has begun falling in Grundy County.
