Chattanooga is one of 10 finalists in Outside magazine's competition for "Best Town Ever."
The list of finalists, picked by the magazine's editors, includes Chattanooga; Charleston, S.C.; Madison, Wis.; Portland, Ore.; Portland, Maine; Santa Fe, N.M.; Ashland, Ore.; Boulder, Co.; Burlington, Vt.; and Tucson, Ariz.
According to a news release, the list represents "dream cities that offer a balance of great culture, perfect scenery, a reasonable cost of living, and easy access to the outdoors."
The winner will be picked by popular vote exclusively through Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/outsidemagazine?sk=app_217524511613004.
"As part of the contest, the public can vote and submit photos, video and comments to back up their selection," the news release notes.
The winning city will be featured in the October issue of the magazine.
