Man identified in deadly I-75 crash this morning

A 55-year-old Knoxville man was killed this morning when he was ejected from his pickup truck after crashing on Interstate 75 in Chattanooga, police said.

Edward B. Debusk is believed to have suffered a medical emergency just prior to crashing at I-75 and Premier Drive, according to Chattanooga police spokesman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

According to a family member, Debusk was heading to a job in Bridgeport, Ala., and had called the family at 4 a.m., saying he wasn't feeling well and would likely pull over to rest, Weary said. The crash appears to have occurred between 4 a.m. and 6:45 a.m., when his truck was found by a CSX railroad employee.

The truck was traveling south on I-75 when it left the highway, went airborne, hit an embankment alongside the CSX railroad tracks and ended up on the tracks, Weary said.
