Sheriff IDs man killed by tree in Georgia storms

ATLANTA - Authorities have identified a motorist killed when a tree crushed his SUV north of Atlanta during powerful storms Wednesday.

Forsyth County sheriff's investigator Ron Tomblin said 51-year-old Kevin Neenan of Suwanee was heading north on Brookwood Road in his GMC Yukon, when a large pine tree fell onto the vehicle's roof.

Authorities said he was pronounced dead at the scene, just north of the Fulton-Forsyth county line.

The National Weather Service said in a statement that damage to a high school and 911 center in Harris County may have been the result of a possible tornado. Weather service officials said a survey team was sent to the west Georgia county to review the damage.
