Red Bank police investigating body found after robbery

photo The resident of this house on Redding Road in Red Bank, Jordan Collins, was found dead Saturday morning and Red Bank police believe the death is connected to a robbery.

Red Bank police are investigating a death they say occurred during a robbery.

Detective Sgt. Dan Knight said in a news release that a body was reported at 3710 Redding Road at about 8 a.m. Saturday. He said police found evidence of forced entry at the home and the body was found inside.

Records show the home was owned by a Michael Collins and that Collins' son, Jordan Collins, lived there.

Family friend Kevin Wilkes said Jordan Collins was the victim and Knight confirmed the identity late Saturday night.

Knight provided no details but three people have been detained pending further investigation. He did not identify them.

Police officers and an ambulance crew were at the small, frame house just before 4 p.m. They brought a gurney bearing what appeared to be a sheet-covered body out and loaded it into an ambulance.

Neighbors said they didn't know the people who lived there and didn't know what happened, but some were concerned for their safety.
