A cab driver is in critical condition after a Wednesday afternoon shooting on Ocoee Street in Chattanooga, police said.
Neighbors called police just before 6 p.m. to report that a Millennium Taxi had been parked outside a residence at 1643 Ocoee St. for a suspiciously long time, said police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig.
When police arrived, they found Nathan Deere, 32, in the driver's seat, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to Erlanger, where he remains in critical condition.
Police are looking for a potential suspect described as a black male who was last seen running north on Ocoee.
A Millennium Taxi dispatcher confirmed that Deere was a driver for the company but declined to comment further.
