Five people were arrested last week after a tipster led DeKalb County sheriff's deputies to a methamphetamine lab in a home on County Road 15, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies investigated the house Dec. 22 after being told that children could be in the house with the illegal drugs. They searched the home and found a one-pot meth lab in a closet, as well as four syringes full of meth.

Timothy Dell Buckelew, 45, Brandon Wayne Wilemon, 30, Rachel Dawn Anderson, 19, Deana Lynn Herring, 25, and James Grant Hathcock, 34, were arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

No children were found in the house during the search. Sheriff Jimmy Harris said he's glad someone called in the tip.

"Although there were no children at the residence when this took place, I hate to know that children may have even been at the residence," he said. "I would like to thank the citizens of the community for their concerns and calling things like this into the sheriff's office. It's because of these calls that we can be successful in making these arrests."
