Video shows Crimson Tide fan sexually assault LSU fan after BCS championship game

A viral Internet video that purports to show a Crimson Tide fan sexually assaulting a passed-out LSU fan in a Bourbon Street Krystal received national attention on Thursday.

The depicted incident took place in New Orleans on Jan. 9 following the college football championship game, in which Alabama trounced LSU 21-0.

In the video, a group of Alabama fans chant "roll tide" for several minutes as onlookers poke and pour liquids on him, before an unidentified male climbs on top of the motionless LSU supporter and simulates a sex act on his head.

Following what New Orleans police are calling "sexual battery," the video shows an apparent Krystal employee pushing his way through the fracas, though the company said in a release that workers acted immediately to stop the assault when they became aware of it.

"We are appalled that this despicable incident would ever occur," said Albert Waterhouse, company spokesman. "Something like this has never before happened in our restaurants."

According to the location's franchisee, Big Easy Enterprises, an employee notified the manager when he noticed what was happening, at which time workers "took action and dispersed the crowd."

Police are calling the Alabama fan a "person of interest," according to a wanted poster distributed by the New Orleans Police Department, which shows him wearing a Timex-style watch on his right hand.
