Chattanooga: Suspect still at large from Monday shooting

Chattanooga police are still searching for a suspect in connection with the Monday shooting of a 29-year-old woman.

Xavier Tyrone Burdette, 37, is suspected of shooting his girlfriend, Connie Freeman, inside a home at 3206 12th Ave. at 1:18 p.m.

Freeman sustained a non-life threatening wound to her shoulder and was taken to Erlanger hospital, where she was treated.

Burdette has warrants issued for his arrest for attempted murder and aggravated assault.

He was convicted last March in an attempted theft case and was placed on probation for six months and had a six-month sentence at the county workhouse, according to court records.

Freeman's shooting marks the 20th shooting of the year for the city.
