Man charged in two North Georgia burglaries

A Lindale, Ga., man who was arrested in Floyd County is now being accused of two burglaries that occurred in Calhoun.

Christopher Lee Lucus, 38, has been charged with two burglaries, a 2011 burglary at Scotts pharmacy and a 2012 burglary at the Dollar Tree, said Calhoun Chief Garry Moss in a news release.

In August 2011, officers responded to an alarm activated at Scott's Pharmacy off Highway 53 and discovered the glass in the front door had been busted, Moss said.

The second incident was this March after a Dollar Tree store manager called police after finding the safe had been accessed, Moss said.

Lucas remains in the Floyd County Jail on unrelated charges and he will be transferred to Gordon County, but police didn't specify when that will happen.
