Whiskey distilleries officially banned from unincorporated areas of Hamilton County

Whiskey distilleries are now officially barred from operating in the unincorporated areas of Hamilton County.

Commissioners voted again to exempt the areas after voting in June on the same resolution.

County Attorney Rheubin Taylor said the initial vote was premature. While Gov. Bill Haslam signed the bill into law in May, it did not go into effect until July 1.
