The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has arrested Sean Harvey on car-theft charges, according to a news release.

The sheriff's office was called to a motor vehicle theft in progress Saturday evening in East Brainerd. The vehicle, described as a 2010 Chrysler 300, was being driven north by two white males in the 1000 block of Interstate 75.

Deputies caught up with the vehicle just off exit 11 in time to see the two men from the car run into nearby woods. Officers searched the area but didn't find the men.

Several hours later, police received a call concerning a wet and muddy man at a business in the area. Deputies found and detained the man, who was identified as Harvey, at the Ooltewah Walmart.

Harvey faces charges of theft over $10,000 and felony evading as well as one count of misdemeanor evading and reckless endangerment.

Investigators still are trying to learn the other man's identity, the release stated.
