Thirteen new traffic lights will be installed on state Route 153 beginning next week.
John Van Winkle, city traffic engineer, told the City Council today that the new lights would include a flashing yellow light to alert motorists they can turn left but have to yield to oncoming traffic.
Cameras are also being installed to monitor traffic so the signals can change based upon heavier traffic flow. The cameras will not be used for enforcement, Winkle said.
