Danny Gilbert, the current assistant principal at Signal Mountain Middle/High School, will succeed John Maynard as principal of Soddy-Daisy High School, district administrators announced this afternoon.
Gilbert has been with the Hamilton County Department of Education since 1987, a news release stated.
Maynard requested a transfer to a different administrative position, schools officials said.
Schools Superintendent Rick Smith, however, has not yet announced where Maynard will be assigned.
