After keeping mum for months on the special guest headliner of the July 19 Nightfall concert, organizers at Chattanooga Presents finally have pulled back the curtain of secrecy and announced that Allen Stone will be at Miller Plaza that evening.

Stone is a socially conscious R&B artist whose soulful vocals draw immediate comparisons to those of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. He most recently was featured in the That Tent during the opening night of this year's Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. The announcement was delayed until after this date was concluded, according to Chattanooga Presents media coordinator Jonathan Susman.

Stone has made appearances in other marquee venues, including "Conan," "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Last Call with Carson Daly." The 26-year-old singer's independently released, self-titled recording debut in 2011 drew national attention from outlets including "Esquire" and "Billboard," who tagged him as an artist to watch before he signed with ATO Records, who re-isssued his album last year. In an Aug. 26 review, "USA Today" described him as "a pitch-perfect powerhouse."

For his July 19 Nightfall appearance, Stone will appear alongside local jazz/soul up-and-comers and Road to Nightfall finalists Smooth Dialects. For more information about Stone, visit www.AllenStone.com.
