2013 Report Card

The just released 2013 Report Card shows test scores, graduation rates and discipline data for Tennessee schools

Test scores, graduation rates and discipline data for all Tennessee schools are now available online with the release of the 2013 Report Card.

Tennessee Department of Education officials rolled out a newly designed report card. Some of the information on the site is old - like results from the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program, which have already been released. But the new Report Card site is a one-stop shop for parents and teachers to find out as much information about their schools as possible.

"We've been releasing data as soon as we have it available. Really here what were talking about is the new functionality of the report card. Our view is that the report card is a tool for parents primarily," said Erin O'Hara, assistant commissioner for data and research at the Tennessee Department of Education.

This year's revamped site also includes a new comparison tool, so parents can study results from different schools side by side. Overall, O'Hara said this version of the results is more visual and less data-centric.

"We're using more graphs, more color to present things," she said. "We're using more pictoral representations of data rather than just tables."
