Kickstarter money to help fund Nashville Symphony recording

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Symphony will make its next recording thanks to help from a Kickstarter campaign.

The symphony says it raised $15,500 from the crowdfunding site.

The money will help the symphony record two works by composer Joan Tower. "Violin Concerto" and "Stroke" will be recorded live in concert next week at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Tower's first recording with the Nashville Symphony, "Made in America," earned three Grammy Awards in 2008.

Next week's recording will be released on the Naxos label next year. The public is invited to attend the concerts. Tickets start at $25.
